All hope abandoned by Arsenal. With the Gunners pursuing Manchester United in the Premiership, their chances of catching up with the table leaders continued to dwindle pounded by their recent loss to Bolton. The match was looking to end in a draw until Tamir Cohen came in and netted a last minute goal to lift them past the Gunners 2-1 leaving Arsenal slipping from Premiership hopes.
Cohen entered the match with only 5 minutes left in regulation and took Arsenal by surprise. The Gunners’ sloppy defence gave way to a set piece that resulted with Cohen heading in the winner. The loss brought Arsenal nine points behind United with only four matches left in their schedule.
Next Sunday, Arsenal will face Manchester United at home. Only 4 rounds are left in the Premier League and Man United still has 2 tough matches lined up. As long as United escapes losses against Arsenal and Chelsea, I believe the Premiership belongs to the Reds. However, United still has at least 2 more Champions League matches. So I think Sir Alex Ferguson will be conservative when they visit the Emirates Stadium this weekend. At this point, they’d rather play safe. Not losing, is as good as winning.
Good price on draw.
