On Rough Waters

 On Rough Waters

I don’t think now is an easy time for Sir Alex Ferguson; Losing 1-2 to Wolves. Especially with unusual incidents like Rio Ferdinand getting injured during warm-up. To add to that, Ferguson is much more problematic of the Horrible “FIFA VIRUS”. In the middle of the week, at least 8 players from United will follow their National Teams to Participate in Friendlies which practically have no bearing!

Rooney will play for England of course. Hernandez will be representing Mexico. A key player in mid-field, Fletcher will play for Scotland as they go against Northern Ireland. The latter also called in United’s defender Evans to represent. Besides Evans, young defender Chris Smalling will be playing for England U21. Side defender Rafael will head back to Brazil together with Anderson. Last of the bunch is Vidic who will be playing for Serbia. Manchester United should be proud that a number of their players will be representing their corresponding national squads but if any of them get injured in meaningless matches, it is the club that will suffer.

It has also been confirmed that Rio Ferdinand will lay-off for 2 weeks which means that he will miss the Manchester Derby this weekend. If any of United’s defenders gets injured in the Friendlies, Fergie will have trouble with him missing a leader in the back line. With Manchester City having Tevez in front, my pick in Man City +0.5.
