It might have been almost a week ago but that 1-6 humiliation of Manchester United under City still stings. It’s an incredibly forgettable match: I would like nothing more than to forget it. Who could have predicted that outcome? I didn’t!
But maybe, at least in the Premier League, the Red Devils could reclaim some dignity in their match against Everton. I reckon I’m still shaken up by the Manchester derby because I’m more than a bit worried about this match. United will meet Everton as visitors, and the Red Devils have won only 2 of their 4 away games this season.
In fact, in 5 away games they’ve gotten 2 wins, and 3 draws all with a 1-1 score.
The only comfort I’m getting comes from Everton’s pathetic home form. Two wins, 1 draw and 2 losses in their last 5 home games. That makes me feel better.
I’m pegging United for the win here, unless they fall apart again and get a draw. But I’d like to think that for a squad like them, and after their 1-6 humiliation, it’s full steam ahead. For them, it’s a win or it will not count. For the sake of their pride.
I feel the same way.
Verdict: Away win
