Undefeated or forgot to win on the road?

Manchester United ended up with just a pitiful draw against Birmingham but still created a new record in the process – entering the new year still staying undefeated – a first for the club after 132 years.

This makes Man United the 7th team who will be entering the new year still undefeated. Before this, only 6 other teams were able to accomplish this feat – 1888-89 Preston, 1899-1900 Sheffield United, 1973-74 Leeds United, 1987-88 Liverpool, 1990-91 & 2003-04 Arsenal. Among these 6 clubs, only Sheffield failed to claim their respective season’s title.

But 1-1 against Birmingham also records United’s 8th draw for the season. If you get to see their home matches, they’ve won 9 out 10, but on the road, they’ve recorded only a single win and 7 draws so far. After their 2-1 victory over Stoke City last Oct. 24, the Red Devils have not won on away since. Did they forget how to win on the road already?

Man United’s next match is away against West Bromwich with an Asian Handicap of -1. I don’t think they could change their away performance that fast. My pick is West Bromwich +1.
