Spurs To Have The Edge!
POSTED: 06 December 2013
The win one week, lose the next, pattern continues for me after Villa couldn’t manage to find the net to beat Sunderland last week. I was at the game and both sides could have played all day and not scored, it was a poor game to say the least. Irony is come midweek, Villa then went to Southampton and scored three which not many will do this season!
Talking of midweek, there was a great set of fixtures where we saw Suarez destroy Norwich (again). The Canaries must be sick of him as he got another hat-trick against them, 11 goals I believe he’s scored past them in 4 games including 3 hat-tricks – some record that. Arsenal continue to stride on at the top of the table after a home win against Hull. However to me the highlight of the midweek games was Everton winning at Man Utd which saw manager Martinez get a win at Old Trafford in his first attempt as Everton boss – something David Moyes couldn’t do in 11 seasons there. I’m a little bias about this result as I backed Everton at 5.5, so was happy for obvious reason!
Anyhow, looking ahead to the weekend the game I’m concentrating on is Sunderland v Tottenham. After watching Sunderland live at Villa Park last weekend I have to say I wasn’t impressed at all, they seemed to lack a cutting edge and it’s no surprise they’re at the bottom of the table. Only Palace have scored less in the league and while they did score 3 against Chelsea midweek they still got beat. Spurs had been on a bad run especially when trounced 6-0 at City a few weeks back, but they returned to winning ways midweek and looking at the two sides, one has quality in depth while the other simply has not.
I can’t help but think Spurs have to be good for Sunderland here and if they have any European aspirations will have to start putting wins together ahead of the busy Xmas schedule. The away win pays 2.0 and that to me looks a good double your money option, it’s where my bet is going this weekend at least!
Pick – Sunderland v Tottenham – Tottenham to win @ 2.0
